The city was left in ruins and thousands of inhabitants were slaughtered during Israel's occupation.It's crucial to remember that there was an ethnic cleansing campaign against indigenous Palestinians from all factions by both Israeli forces and Arab invaders during this period. This campaign led to half of Palestine's original inhabitants being forcibly expelled from their homeland.
